JENNIFER B. SHOELLHORN was recently appointed to the Park District of Forest Park staff as Recreation Supervisor. A graduate of Indiana University, she received a B.S. in Recreation and Park Administration. Shoellhorn previously was Aquatic Director for Central Lake YMCA. At Indiana U. she served two years as president of the Indiana Parks & Recreation Association Student Branch. She has also worked in various capacities with the Des Plaines Park District, the Park District of Highland Park and the Vernon Hills Park District.

FRANK DUIS, Director of the Sterling Park District, has been named chairman of the Board of Regents of the School of Sports Management, which is under direction of the Department of Recreation Resources Administration of North Carolina State University. Two other Illinois leisure professionals, JAMES FOENS, Director of the Plainfield Township Park District, Plainfield, and MARK JOHNSON, Sports Coordinator for the Urbana Park District, are also members of the Board of Regents. Foens, in addition, is Chairman Elect. Authorities and professionals in the field serve as members of the Board of Regents and as teaching staff for the school.

MICHAEL STERBA, (right), Director of Parks and Recreation for the Coloma Township Park District, Rock Falls, is shown receiving the coveted "Shoulder to the Wheel" award from Menno "Bud" Beachy, President of the Rock Falls Kiwanis Club, at the recent annual meeting of the Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce at the Rock River Country Club. Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, the award is the highest honor paid to an individual in recognition of outstanding community service. More than 150 Chamber members and guests attended.

In addition to serving as the Director of Parks and Recreation for the Coloma Township Park District, Sterba currently is chairman of the Whiteside County Housing Authority, a member and former officer of the Rock Falls Days Association, member and Past President of the Rock Falls Kiwanis Club, and he has been deeply involved in a number of civic activities and events in Rock Falls.

JACK A. CLAES, Director of Parks and Recreation for the Elk Grove Park Distirct, recently was elected a member of the Board of Trustees of the Illinois Municipal Retirement fund (IMRF) for a two year term. Claes was one of three persons chosen for the seven-member Board in statewide elections by the 107,000 local governmental employees who are in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.

At a regular meeting of the Board on Janury 26, Claes was elected Vice-President of the organization. The IMRF, headquartered in Chicago, administers a program of retirement, disability and death benefits for the employees of 2300 local governmental agencies in Illinois. It also pays pension benefits to more than 34,000 former employees and their beneficiaries.
