Carla Fisher has been involved in communications and the legislative process for 10 years. She worked on two daily newspapers as a reporter with editing, layout and photographic responsibilities. She served as an analyst on the Illinois House legislative staff for four years. Carla joined the Illinois Hospital Association in 1980 as one of two lobbyists in Springfield. She was responsible for the Association's weekly legislative newsletter as well as educational programming for hospitals offering long-term and psychiatric care. In early 1983, she established Creative Resources, specializing in free-lance writing, public relations, legislative monitoring and communications services.

Barb Valiukenas has an extensive background in journalism, education and the legislative process. She was a publications assistant for the American Marketing Association and a newspaper reporter with experience in editing and layout. She taught elementary school for six years. For 10 years, whe served as a legislative assistant in Springfield, responsible for media relations, newsletters, community projects and constituent services. During this time, she became well-acquainted with the operation of Illinois government and public relations activities employed by community groups and statewide trade associations. Most recently, she has been responsible for a large portion of Lt. Governor George Ryan's Senior Action Program — a program providing information and referral services to senior citizens throughout the State.
