Mrs. Diane B. Greenlees, CMC, Deputy Village Clerk of Palatine, Illinois has been accepted into the Academy for Advanced Education of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. The Academy is a professional body of municipal clerks who have continued their high level of educational achievement beyond the attainment of the prestigious Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) Award.

On January 20,1987, Western Springs Village Clerk Frank C. Everitt unexpectedly passed away. In his honor, the Board of Trustees, at its regular January meeting, passed a resolution recognizing Frank's twenty-two years of service to the Village; four years as Village Trustee, and eighteen years as Village Clerk. Frank was chosen as the Centennial "Citizen for the Month" for May,1986.
