The National Institute of Municipal Law Officers (NIMLO) is indeed proud to present NIMLO's AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING NATIONAL PUBLIC SERVICE BY A MUNICIPAL ATTORNEY, which is our highest public service recognition, to Marvin J. Glink, Corporation Counsel of Naperville, Illinois. As a result of his more than 25 years of public service in various municipal attorney offices in the State of Illinois, he is well known to all the members of NIMLO, the municipal law community, and the legal profession of our Nation.

Marvin J. Glink has earned this Award in recognition of his record of active service in NIMLO. He has been an important member of NIMLO for many years and has served as NIMLO Regional Vice-President, on the NIMLO Board of Trustees, and as both Vice-President and President of the NIMLO Executive Committee.

In bestowing this, our greatest honor, upon Marvin J. Glink, we honor not only his service to NIMLO but his outstanding and remarkable career of leadership in many fields of municipal law.

In addition to his private practice as a partner in the Chicago firm of Ancel, Glink, Diamond, Murphy &. Cope, Marvin has been Corporation Counsel for the City of Naperville since 1969 and Village Attorney for the Village of Bridgeview since 1967. He served as Village Attorney for the Village of Fox River Grove for many years and was Corporation Counsel for the Village of Skokie from 1961 to 1965. He is also the General Counsel for the Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency and has acted as attorney for various municipalities, school districts, and both Cook and DuPage Counties.

Marvin J. Glink has served as consultant to the Illinois Municipal League and has chaired the IML Legislative Committee. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Municipal Legal Studies Center of the Southwestern Legal Foundation, where he was elected treasurer in 1984, and an active member of the World Peace Through Law Center. He has been chairman of the Local Government Committee of the Chicago Bar Association and active in both the Illinois Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Marvin's community activities have included membership in the Evanston chapter of B'nai B'rith, where he has served as president, and membership in Temple Judea of Niles Township, where he has served as vice-president. He was also president of the Chicago Kent-I.T.T. Alumni Association in 1982 and 1983.

For all his contributions to law and life in our Nation, we present this Award to Marvin J. Glink with pride and gratitude. He truly represents the ideal qualities of a Municipal Attorney.
