This month's IPR presents a potpourri of topics for you to read about:

Gur-Arie Rotem introduces basic marketing concepts for park and recreation agencies to consider and use in the development of their programming and promotions.

John Beaman produces a solid case in support of the National Certification Plan and the intrinsic benefits of pursuing continuing education in the field of parks and recreation.

Julie Timm provides us with the "inside story" of Schaumburg Park District's plan for continued growth and the development of their new administration building.

Dr. Sandra D. Parker and Dr. George C. Fenstermacher outline the success of their JTPA program conducted on the WIU campus for secondary-age students.

Dr. Michael A. Kanters presents the results of his study on employee resistance to using computers. His studies indicate resistance to using computers may be dissipating.

Robert A. Orsi has submitted an overview of Geneseo's plan for community wellness. Geneseo Park District and Hammond Henry Hospital have joined forces to offer their community a winning combination. Peter M. Murphy highlights the particulars of Governor Thompson's State Budget Address, current legislative issues, and presents new bill introductions in the House and Senate.

• As a feature legal article, attorneys Stewart H. Diamond and Henry E. Mueller encourage park and recreation agencies to develop pre-activity waivers and releases of liability for their program participants and for their own protection. The authors have provided some samples for you to use in creating your own forms.

We hope you find this issue full of interesting information you can put to use in your own agency. Looking forward to seeing you at the Legislative Conference in Springfield on April 19, 1989. Pleasant reading!
