ENGINEER

The City of Washington, Illinois (pop. 10,400), a growing central Illinois coinimmity located nine miles east of Peoria, is seeking qualified applicants for the newly created position of Engineer. DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF

The Village of Palatine, Illinois (population 40,000), with a full service suburban Chicago metropolitan area fire department, is seeking an experienced fire and emergency medical services administrator. This position, as Deputy Fire Chief — Operations, is second-in-command and reports directly to the Fire Chief. The department provides fire suppression and prevention, public education and emergency medical services to the ten square mile Village, as well as contractually to an unincorporated area of another ten square miles. A bachelors degree is required, preferably in fire science, administration or related field, or any equivalent combination of experience and training, with a minimum of ten years experience in fire and medical services, and at least five years at a command/administration level. The Deputy Fire Chief must have excellent oral and written skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people. Salary range $48,000 to $54,000, depending upon qualifications and experience. BUILDING INSPECTOR

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The City of Waukegan, population 75,000 is seeking to fill the newly created position of Assistant Director of Economic Development. The successful applicant must possess no less than five years of progressively responsible management experience, a Degree in Urban Planning or equivalent work experience, and thorough knowledge of federal and state economic development programs, current Block Grant regulations, urban planning, and building construction and renovation.
