Use e-mail for
'Letters' to editor

Readers: With electronic communication technology available to more and more people, we invite you, the Reader, to write to us directly via electronic mail, especially to send your "Letters" to the editor. Illinois Issues' connection to electronic mail is through the Internet, which has a "gateway" to other services such as America Online, Applelink, ATTMail, BITNET, CompuServe, MCIMail and UUCIP (there is no gateway between Prodigy and Internet). E-mail address is below.

While clarity of imaging is sometimes a problem with electronic transmission of facsimile (FAX) correspondence, that method is also available to communicate with us directly. Of course, the old-fashioned U.S. mail will also reach us, albeit somewhat more slowly.

Here are all the addresses for corresponding with the editor, Caroline Gherardini, at Illinois Issues.

E-mail address on Internet:
gherardi@eagle.sangamon.edu

FAX telephone:
(217) 786-7257

U.S. mail delivery:

Correction: In the photo caption on page 25 of the May 1993 magazine, the author incorrectly reported the grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Development (DCCA) as $25,000. The grant was for $15,000 through the federal Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) program admininstered by DCCA. The $25,000 grant was from the Illinois Development Finance Authority. State Treasurer Pat Quinn's office was also instrumental in helping the community of Sparta obtain loans for the purchase of the Sparta Printing Company by its employees. The author regrets the error.
