PLANNING TECHNICIAN

CHIEF OF POLICE

The Village of Burr Ridge (population 7,660), a prestigious, service-oriented suburb located southwest of Chicago, seeks an experienced leader to fill the position of Chief of Police. The department presently has 20 officers, three civilian personnel and a budget of $1.4 million. The Chief reports to the Village Administrator. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a police-related field and ten years' progressive experience, with at least five of them in a supervisory capacity, preferably as Chief of Police. The position requires a person with strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills.
