CHIEF OF POLICE

The Village of Thornton, Illinois, South Cook County, Community of 2,800 Residents, Home-Rule/Village Trustee form of government is seeking a "Professional" to head a department of ten (10) Full time and two (2) Auxiliary Policemen. PLANNING TECHNICIAN

The Village of Mokena (Population 7,500), located in northeastern Will County, IL is accepting resumes for the position of Planning Technician. The position is within the framework of the Planning & Zoning Department and shall be responsible to the Development Director. The newly created position offers significant growth potential and has been designed to meet the increased development demands of a rapidly growing suburban community. A bachelors degree in Urban or Regional Planning as well as practical experience with local, county or state government is strongly desired. CHIEF OF POLICE

The Village of Burr Ridge (population 7,660), a prestigious, service-oriented suburb located southwest of Chicago, seeks an experienced leader to fill the position of Chief of Police. The department presently has 20 officers, three civilian personnel and a budget of $1.4 million. The Chief reports to the Village Administrator. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a police-related field and ten years' progressive experience, with at least five of them in a supervisory capacity, preferably as Chief of Police. The position requires a person with strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills. Candidates could be subject to psychological, medical, polygraph, written and oral examinations as well as an extensive background investigation. Current salary range for this position is $55,000 to $68,000 plus an excellent employee benefit program. However, starting salary is negotiable, depending upon qualifications and experience.
