FIRE CHIEF

City of DeKalb, Illinois ($50,000-$70,000); Excellent benefits package. DeKalb is a fast growing community. (pop. 35,076) It is the home of Northern Illinois University and is located 75 miles West of downtown Chicago. The Fire Chief is under the direction and supervision of the City Manager and shall comply with mandated federal, state and local rules and regulations governing the position. The position is a permanent top level management position that requires the Fire Chief to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week with frequent overtime. The DKFD protects approximately 60 sq. miles. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Fire Administration or related field. Ten years experience in the fire service, five years of top management experience is preferred. NFA Executive Fire Officer certification desirable. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
