EDITOR'S
DESK . . .

Jeff Markland was appointed the new Office Chief for the Chicago office of Local Government, Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs. Jeff was the mayor of Urbana for 16 years, served as president of the Illinois Municipal League, and also served as Chairman of the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission. He has also been extensively involved in economic development and dealt with most of the issues facing local governments today.

Jeff served 2 years on the National League of Cities
Board of Directors. •
