CHIEF OF POLICE

The City of Country Club Hills, IL (a diverse community, pop. 15,431, 20 miles south of Chicago), is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Chief of Police for its 24 member department (17 sworn officers) with an annual budget of $1,700,000. Candidates must possess the following qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Police, Public or Business Administration, Criminal Justice or related field, Master's Degree desirable; minimum of 10 years of broad-based experience in all aspects of police work with at least five additional years in command rank with progressively responsible supervisory experience; strong management, leadership, training and communications skills; thorough knowledge of modern police administration practices; ability to enhance public understanding and support of police services, activities and programs; familiarity with budget preparation, union contracts and negotiations. Must be willing to relocate to Country Club Hills within one year. Salary range $45,000-$52,000, commensurate with qualifications. Excellent benefits package.

PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT

The City of Fulton is accepting applications for an individual to serve as the head of the Public Works Dept. This is a new position created as a result of consolidation. Job requires four years of increasingly responsible work experience and supervisory experience. Municipal experience is preferred. The successful applicant must be a team player, possess excellent communication skills, strong supervisory skills. Ill. Class B Water Operators certificate and an Ill. Class 3 Sewer certificate. Salary range, $24,000 to $29,000 DOQ, plus benefits. Residency required within one year of appointment.

CHIEF OF POLICE

The City of Kankakee is conducting a search for a Chief of Police. The Department consists of 92 employees, including 69 sworn officers. Qualifications for the position include prior leadership experience and proven ability to administer an active department. A Bachelor's degree in a police related field is preferred. The Chief of this department must have a commitment to neighborhood policing and innovative approaches to law enforcement. Overall skills of positive leadership, administration and enhancement of public involvement are also essential. The Search Committee will. conduct thorough screening, including psychological, medical, polygraph, drug and background investigations.

The salary for this position is negotiable based upon education, experience and qualifications. The City of Kankakee is a city located one hour south of the Chicago Loop. It is a city of 29,000 diverse residents. The City is administered by a Mayor who will make the appointment and a City Council which will approve the appointment. PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT

The Village of Lisle, a western suburb of Chicago with a population of 19,500, seeks a Public Works Superintendent to plan, direct, administer and monitor the Operations Division activities (streets, water, sanitary and storm sewers, snow removal, street lights, facility maintenance, etc.) of our mid-sized Public Works Department. This position reports to the Public Works Director and is responsible for direct supervision of three foremen. An associate's degree or equivalent coursework in supervision or management, proven administrative skills & experience, 6 years of progressive experience in all operations of a mid-sized public works department (with at least 3 years at the supervisory level), and valid drivers license required. Salary range: $39,664-$50,906 plus good benefits. Must pass physical exam and drug screen.

BUILDING ADMINISTRATOR

The City of Wood Dale, a Chicago suburb (population 12,500), is seeking applicants for the position of Building Administrator. The Building Administrator oversees the City department responsible for enforcing all appropriate building and related codes and ordinances; directing subordinates engaged in inspections of work covered by the codes and ordinances; advising developers, contractors, architects and citizens on code provisions and standards; reviewing and approving site and building plans; conducting field inspections; administering the City's stormwater management ordinance; and handling citizen problems and service requests. Require graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in civil or structural engineering, architecture, construction science, or related field; or equivalent experience in building construction practices and codes. Experience in a municipal building department, especially in a supervisory capacity is highly desirable. Must have or be able to obtain BOCA certifications or equivalent.

CONTROLLER/BUSINESS MANAGER

The Fox Valley Park District is located in the heart of the fabulous Fox River Valley in the far western suburbs of Chicago. A unit of local government established in 1947, the park district serves the communities of Aurora, North Aurora and Montgomery. The fiscal year 93/94 operating budget totals $11.6 million and the district tax base has been steadily increasing with 1992 E.A.V. of $1.2 billion. The Controller/Business Manager shall be responsible for all accounting activities.
