SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS

The Village of Winthrop Harbor is accepting applications for the position of Public Works Superintendent. Duties will include supervision of all personnel assigned to the Public Works Department, coordination and direction on maintenance of storm sewer drainage systems, maintenance and repair of water-main systems, fire hydrant repairs. Must possess or be able to obtain a Class (D) certification from the I.E.P.A. to maintain water service; snow and ice removal and a demonstrated knowledge of vehicle/equipment maintenance and repair, as well as the ability to manage and evaluate the work of others. Must be familiar with state purchase bid procedures and budget preparations. The job requirements include that you must have a high school diploma or the equivalent, valid Class A CDL w/air brakes drivers license, the ability to pass a physical that will allow you to perform the duties as well as administrate them. Experience in municipal engineering or related field is a plus. Salary range from 32,196 to 37,584 depending on qualifications.

VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR

The Village of Willow Springs, Cook County, Illinois (pop. 4600), is seeking a Village Administrator. This position reports to the Village President and six member Board of Trustees. Implements policies established by Village President and Board. Responsible for wide variety of duties including: (i) supervising daily activities of Village administration; (ii) economic development; (iii) overall department accountability and coordination including Clerk's office, Public Works, Police and Fire Department; and (iv) preparation and administration of $2.0 Million budget. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Elk Grove Park District, serving a Northwest suburb of the Chicagoland area with 33,000 residents, seeks a qualified professional to lead and manage 41 developed park facilities, a senior center, preschool, two water parks, a golf course and driving range, a children's theme park, a teen center, a historical museum, and a 116,000 square foot community recreation facility. Qualifications for this position include: A minimum of six to eight years executive level management in a park and/or recreation organization comparable to the EGPD, or in a major city, county, or governmental agency. A Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation Administration or any equivalent combination of education, experience & training which provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities. This should be supplemented by extensive administrative experience in cultural, recreation, and park management. Ability to work with a Board of Directors and Committees. FINANCE DIRECTOR

The City of Park Ridge, IL will accept sealed bids for the sale of two (2) 1980 Ford L8000 Dump Trucks with 10' reversible snow plows and two (2) 1979 Hough H60E Wheel Loaders. Wheel loaders had new engines and re-cored radiators installed in 1992. All arm pins were re-bushed in 1990. Responsibilities include: review of subdivision plats, plans and design, coordination and supervision of engineering inspector and engineering technician with construction inspection and CAD. ASSISTANT TO PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR

The Village of Lake Zurich is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Assistant to the Public Works Director. This position involves a combination of administrative, supervisory and technical duties critical to the management of a progressive, full-service Public Works Department. The position will entail an equal mixture of office and field assignment, ranging from administration and monitoring of the Village's safety program to assisting in preparation of the department's operating budget. The position will also act as liaison between the Director and the Superintendents of Water Distribution, Streets, Wastewater Collection and Vehicle Maintenance. Applicants must have strong oral and written communications skills and at least 5 years of supervisory experience in the field of public works. The Bolingbrook Local Development Corporation (LDC) has an opening for the position of Executive Director. The Director reports directly to the Board of Directors and acts as liaison between the Corporation, Developers and the Village of Bolingbrook (population 45,000). The Bolingbrook LDC is a non-profit corporation whose stated objective is to encourage economic development in the Village of Bolingbrook. Duties include planning and implementing activities which will foster economic development in the Village and its planning area; promoting existing industrial parks and commercial sectors of the community; aggressively recruiting new industrial commercial businesses; promoting existing businesses and retail activity; providing marketing materials promoting the community and acting as public relations liaison to the local, regional and national press; aggressively pursuing new membership and other fundraising activities; analyzing development opportunities and making specific recommendations to Village officials; and reviewing and making recommendations on Village ordinances and requirements in regard to the impact on local economic development. Qualifications for the position are: a degree in marketing or related field or comparable experience; experience in all aspects of real estate development and/or governmental economic development as well as a thorough knowledge of the development process; three years of experience in economic development, including planning and analysis experience and a demonstrated knowledge of computers and computer software. Salary range $35,000 to $45,000 plus benefits.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT FOREMAN
