Close-up Shot of the Magestic Red-Tailed Hawk

This close-angle shot of a majestic, female red-tailed hawk was shot without flash or filters by Carol Freeman, owner of Carol Freeman Photography, during Nature Conservancy Days at the Lake County Forest Preserves' Ryerson Woods. Says Freeman: "Nature is so beautiful in and of itself, I could not possibly improve it by any means." Freeman is a member of the Nature Conservancy whose clients include the Lake County Forest Preserves, the Chicago Botanic Garden and Chicago Wilderness magazine, for which she serves as layout designer and photo editor. This photograph was published as a poster that is available at www.carolfreemanphotography.com.
