Three documentary films presented by Jeffrey Chown, Department of Communications, Northern Illinois University:

Barbed Wire Pioneers Inventing a Community: Award winning video tells the story of barbed wire, from its invention in the late 19th century, to its lasting legacy today. Barbed Wire Pioneers is the tale of three men, Isaac Ellwood, Joseph Glidden and Jacob Haish. It is the story of success, competition and community spirit that set in motion events still felt today.

DeKalb Stories: Recounts local history through stories on the Gurler Dairy Farm, The Wurlitzer factory's role in World War II and the Finnish community's settlement in DeKalb.

John Altgeld: The Eagle Bemembered: Is a 54-minute biography chronicling the controversial 19th century Illinois governor. Altgeld's accomplishments included progressive political legislation and advocacy of public education, exemplified in his creating the Northern Illinois State Normal School in DeKalb (now Northern Illinois University).
