Where are they?

Outgoing Gov. Dan Walker will open a statewide law firm called Dan Walker and Associates, with a central office located near Chicago and staffed by himself and his son Dan Jr. Other members of the firm are former state Rep. Jack R. Beaupre (D., Kankakee), in the Springfield office; Michael Berz, former chairman of the State Liquor Control Commission, in the Kankakee office; James Gende in the Moline office; James G. Hatcher, former Peoria County Democratic chairman, in the Peoria office; and Paul D. Giamanco in the Mt. Vernon office.

Former Lt. Gov. Neil F. Hartigan, 38, as vice president of the First National Bank of Chicago and president of Real Estate Research Corp., a subsidiary of the bank's parent company. First Chicago Corp. He succeeds Stephen R. Nichols, who was promoted to chairman of the Real Estate Research Corp.

Former Senate President Cecil A. Partee (D., Chicago), as commissioner of human services for Chicago, in January. Partee was first elected state representative in 1956, going to the Senate in 1967, where he was minority leader (1971-1973), then president (1975-1976). Instead of seeking reelection in November, he ran for attorney general and lost.

George W. Lindberg, 44, of Crystal Lake, as first assistant attorney general by Atty. Gen. William J. Scott, effective January. He served as a state representative from 1967 to 1973 and was elected Illinois' first comptroller in 1973 but lost reelection in November. Lindberg succeeds the late Robert J. O'Rourke.
