About the cover:
Tom Walquist (pictured here) with his brother, Howard, and their families, operate the only air-conditioned dairy barns in the country. Located in southern Illinois where the lower end of the Shawnee National Forest begins to blend in with the Ohio River bottom, the dairy is in an area known for heat and humidity. Although it sounds crazy, the Walquists have found that air-conditioning their cows really pays off in higher milk production.
